How to Save Money on Carrier HVAC products
Doing a bit of research before choosing an HVAC replacement not only helps maximize your returns on investment but also helps you save money. In general, it’s best to stick to reputable brands that offer more features and flexible financing options. Carrier®, one of the most trusted brands in the country, is offering Cool Cash rebates to Carrier HVAC products for a limited time.
In this post, our air conditioning repair technicians at Cardinal Heating & Air discuss how to avail of Carrier’s Cool Cash rebate and share some tips on choosing an HVAC replacement.
Cool Cash Rebates
For a limited time, purchasing qualifying heating or cooling products from Carrier qualifies you for up to $1,650 in Cool Cash rebates. For more details on the rebates, consult a Carrier dealer.
Maximizing Your ROIs
HVAC units can be a significant investment. When choosing an HVAC replacement, you shouldn’t get too preoccupied with the costs. Focus instead on the features that can give you value for your money. For instance, it’s common knowledge that HVAC units account for a significant portion of a household’s electricity bill. That’s why it’d be a good idea to look for HVAC or indoor air quality units with energy-saving features.
Choosing an HVAC Unit
When narrowing down your options, it’s easy to get caught up in an analysis paralysis trap. However, you shouldn’t take too long to decide, as the rebates are valid for a limited time only. To help you get started, here are some tips on choosing an HVAC unit:
- Look for the ENERGY STAR label – Only HVAC units that have passed the EPA’s stringent performance standards are certified by the program.
- Check an HVAC unit’s efficiency ratings – How do you choose one from several ENERGY-STAR-certified units? By checking a unit’s seasonal energy-efficiency rating (SEER), heating seasonal performance factor (HSPF) and annual fuel utilization efficiency (AFUE) ratings (if you’re looking for a gas furnace or water heater). An HVAC unit’s SEER ratings give you an idea of a unit’s efficiency during the cooling season while the HSPF and AFUE ratings indicate a heat pump’s heating and gas furnace’s fuel efficiency respectively. In general, you should look for a cooling unit with a SEER rating of 12 or greater and an HSPF of at least 8.2. (These are the minimum ratings for an ENERGY STAR certification.) As for water heaters and gas furnaces, the higher the AFUE rating, the better. For instance, Carrier’s Infinity 98 gas furnace has an AFUE of 98.5%, which means it can use 98.5% of its fuel efficiently.
- Energy-saving features – One advantage of choosing national brands is that they’re usually the first ones to introduce new energy-saving features to the market. Carrier, a leading innovator in the HVAC industry, introduced its Greenspeed™ Intelligence technology to its premium Infinity line. Its Greenspeed technology allows homeowners to monitor and control humidity. Plus, the Infinity control system also gives reminders when some HVAC components need to be repaired or replaced. Remember: Routine maintenance is crucial to maintaining indoor air quality.
If you’re interested in the Infinity line, we recommend the Infinity 20 Air Conditioner with Greenspeed technology. This unit has a SEER rating of 20.5 SEER. If you want to maximize your home’s energy efficiency, you might want to consider Carrier’s 9,000 BTUh single-zone ductless system, which has a SEER rating of 42, making it one of the most energy-efficient options on the market.
