Job Description
Full time sheet metal installer to install a variety of HVAC systems for residential and light commercial applications.
Responsibilities
- Employee to provide hand and battery power tools needed to perform your role
- Knowledge of basic sheet metal practices
- Proven record of Sheet Metal installation in custom homes and commercial situations
- Perform air balance with velometer or hood and recognize when and what problems exist from the test
- Compile a complete materials list from blueprints or site visit
- Verify and coordinate HVAC building code compliance
- Communicate clearly, the ideas and explanations of problems to customers and coworkers
- Train and instruct other employees as requested
- Troubleshoot equipment after start up; make changes or adjustments as needed
- Work with sales associate on pricing, scope and changes on installs
- Coordinate and remain current on all local utility programs
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times
- Layout and perform equipment change outs as needed
- Complete clear and concise paperwork as needed
- Keep your vehicle stocked with needed parts and materials
- Clean and organize your van weekly
- Other duties as assigned
Education
- High school diploma required. AA or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Valid Washington State driver’s license
- All necessary industry licenses and certifications to complete work listed
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with HVAC equipment and systems install
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret system diagrams and blueprints
- Must know how, and be able to perform, duct testing
- Be familiar with a wide range of equipment and troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to install a wide range or HVAC equipment
- Experience installing furnaces, HWT’s, and modifying ducting systems of various types
- Ability to acquire low voltage license within 2 years of employment
- Advanced customer service skills
- Demonstrate willingness to accept responsibility and leadership roles
- Knowledge of basic sheet metal practices
- Knowledge of air balancing principles and techniques
- Knowledge of basic gas piping and refrigeration piping installations
- EPA Certification (minimum Level 2)
- Acquire training on residential radiant boiler systems and controls
- Excellent communication skills to discuss systems with owners after installation
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to walk, bend and crawl for on-site job inspections
- Must be able to talk on the phone and work on comp
