Global Warming Now Affecting The U.S. Says Report

The latest federal climate assessment says the United States is now experiencing global warming impacts. The report released by the U.S. government says higher temperatures are causing more flooding in flood prone areas while other parts of the country have to deal with water scarcity.
The planet’s climate changes constantly but the current warming is now happening faster than before.

According to climate experts, greenhouse gas emissions have contributed to warmer summers in the U.S. and other parts of the world.
Scientists believe that gaseous substances released by industries and agricultural areas are the culprit. Experts say these gases are then added to the Earth’s natural greenhouse effect and as a result, more energy is trapped in the atmosphere.

The Evidence For Warming
Since the year 1979, satellite data have shown a rapid decline of Arctic sea-ice — the decline totaling to a dramatic 4% per year. Temperature records from the latter part of the 19th Century show an increase in the Earth’s temperature making global warming an “alarming” problem.

Scale Of Impacts
The latest federal climate change report says that there is now an increased possibility of more severe weather changes across the United States but ensured that the situation is “actionable”.

While climate experts often mention extreme weather conditions as one of the impacts of the climate problem, the scale of impending impacts is uncertain. Changes in the atmosphere could lead to water shortages and bring drastic predicaments for food supply.

Increased precipitation and flooding are also perceived by experts as another effect of global warming. In early 2014, the United Kingdom experienced extreme flooding while in the Philippines dealt with devastation after typhoon Haiyan made landfall the year before.

While experts forecast more precipitation in the years to come, the U.S. report and the UN’s climate panel also say that global warming has increased the risk of droughts. Scientists say however that there are regional variations.

The ocean will also suffer from global warming impacts say experts due to the increased CO2 in our seas. This higher CO2 uptake leads to acidification which, according to scientists, poses as a big problem for marine life.

Human Adaptation
The World Health Organization warned that tropical nations will suffer from the effects of higher temperatures and that millions of people are likely to be affected by water-borne diseases.

Extinction of certain flora and fauna are also predicted by experts. These changes are already impacting societies of the world. In the warmer regions of the United States, it experts advise homeowners to contact a professional hvac technician to improve the ventilation in their homes.
